Turkish Americans has donated $50,000 for disaster recovery.
People of Far Rockaway faced a tragedy caused by the catastrophicstorm ‘Sandy’ which wiped away many trees, shops, and the roofs ofmany houses. The residents were left homeless, without food andclothes and most importantly they were left without help. Help thatwill revitalize, give them hope instead of despair, and a motivationto get back on their fee
t. Certain organizations with similar goalssaw this as a great opportunity to give the help the residents of FarRockaway had hoped for. Helping people who are in need, promotingharmony, and growing the number of charitable activities around theworld are all mutual goals of the organizations that brought manyTurkish Americans together to contribute $50,000 to the Queens Libraryfor the sake of humanity.
The grant will be presented on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Queens Library located at 1637 Central Avenue Far Rockaway Queens, NY 11691.
