By Janet Ekstract NEW YORK- As March 15 is declared The International Day to Combat Islamophobia, as a commemoration of the Christchurch massacre, U.S. President Joe Biden in a formal statement said: “Islamophobia has no place in our nation.” Biden recalled the tragic incident in Christchurch, New Zealand five years ago at a mosque and Islamic center there that took the lives of 51 which wounding 40 others. Biden reiterated that “all Americans must unequivocally stand up against hate,” adding that Muslims in the U.S. “frequently endure baseless fearmongering, blatant discrimination, harassment and violence in the course of their everyday lives.”

The U.S. President said: “We recognize the violence and hate that Muslims worldwide too often face because of their religious beliefs – and the ugly resurgence of Islamophobia in the wake of the devastating war in Gaza.” Biden added that everyone must “rededicate” themselves to creating a world where “people of all faiths and all backgrounds are free to live without fear of persecution.”
