The United Nations Agency for Help and Public Works for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said its shelters in the blockaded Gaza Strip were overcrowded, with many having to sleep outside. (AA)
In his account on the X social media platform, UNRWA released a statement on ABC News of the United States regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, where Director of Communications Juliette Touma was exposed to Israeli attacks.
Touma said on the latest state of UNRWA-owned facilities in the Gaza Strip, “Our shelters in the region are overcrowded and we can no longer accommodate more people.
The UN official said, “In the southernmost city of Welfare, the Gaza Strip, there is no civilian infrastructure to support the displaced influx of people, most civilians are sleeping on the streets now.
Israel’s invasion of Gaza after October 7
