BRÜKSEL (TURKISH JOURNAL) – Libya will be the focus of talks between U.S. President Joe Biden and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the NATO Summit on Monday in Brussels.
All Alliance members hold private meetings at the summit to discuss topics of special importance. The meeting for the two presidents is especially significant since relations between the U.S. and Turkey have been particularly tense of late. Biden’s National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan said Biden will broach several crucial issues that include the tenuous security situation in Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean region.
Biden also told the press at the G7 meeting on Sunday in England that he would speak with Russia’s President Putin about Libya. He added that the U.S. and Russia should also work together to resolve the situation in Libya.
