İSTANBUL (GOLDEN HORN AGENCY)- On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a formal statement declared that based on all the evidence, after a careful review and Russia’s repeated targeting of civilians, that Russia definitely has and continues to commit war crimes.
Blinken said: “Today I can announce that based on information currently available, the U.S. government asseses that members of Russia’s army have committed war crimes, in Ukraine.”
The secretary of state further commented that the U.S. is committed to full accountability on those responsible for the numerous atrocities committed in Ukraine by Russian forces as he outlined each individual act of brutality and violence in his statement.
He went on to guarantee that the U.S. is closely tracking each war crime committed and keeping its partners, allies and all relevant international organizations informed.
And Blinken reiterated that Russia must be held accountable for all those war crimes as he said U.S. President Joe Biden also highlighted. The latest reports on atrocities by Russia’s army on Ukraine include the rape of women, kidnapping relief workers and shooting civilians along humanitarian corridors.
