İSTANBUL – On Wednesday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was welcomed in an official and formal ceremony in Ankara to celebrate a new chapter in bilateral relations between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
In a joint declaration, both leaders announced their goals of deepening and strengthening bilateral ties as well as forging a new era in stability and peace in the Middle East.
Turkish President Erdogan had visited the Saudi leader at the end of April to begin the process of boosting ties as well as furthering cooperation on regional issues of mutual interest.
The Saudi Crown Prince declared his country’s gratitude in the joint declaration for Türkiye’s support for Riyadh’s candidacy to host Expo 2030. Both leaders committed to build and maintain cooperation based on a “historical brotherhood.”
Both leaders announced there are a multitude of mutual opportunities that include developing investments, transforming opportunities into collaborative partnerships. Erdogan commented that it’s time to “make friends not enemies” in the region..
