TURKISH JOURNAL (NEW YORK) – Pia Bozyel – The United Nations (UN) Security Council will meet tomorrow for an urgent session to discuss the growing tension between Israel and Occupied Palestine Territories tomorrow.
The meeting will take place at 15.00 local time at UN headquarters in New York.
UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland will brief Council members.
The whole of the meeting will be carried out with closed consultations.
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres had condemden Hamas attack against Israel earlier calling for restraint.
Operation Al Aqsa Flood was announced by the Palestinian group Hamas last night. Israel in return said, “We are at war” and began its Operation Swords of Iron in Gaza.
While Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 232 people lost their lives due to the conflict, the Israeli side cites loss of 300 lives.
