WHO Chief: All Communications With Gaza Staff Cut Off

By Janet Ekstract ISTANBUL- World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Friday in a statement on X said: “We have lost touch with our staff in Gaza, with health facilities, health workers and the rest of our humanitarian partners on the ground.” The WHO chief said he has “grave concerns” about their safety and risks to vulnerable patients. He added: “We urge immediate protection of all civilians and full humanitarian access.” The Gaza Strip saw a complete blackout with communications and internet services in the Gaza Strip cut off on Friday evening. A mobile network operator in the West Bank Ooredoo Palestine said its cell services were completely cut off from the Gaza Strip on Friday night.

Meanwhile, a myriad of aid groups, international NGOs and organizations have said that world leaders must not allow the “atrocities” to continue in the region. The situation is dire and the consequences that everyone fears whether civilian, aid worker or journalist are terrifying those on the ground have said.  Palestinian Telecommunications Company said the bombing of feeder lines, towers and networks led to the complete cut off of communications and internet services. At the U.N. Security Council, a number of world leaders and heads of organizations spoke out in favor of an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and the need for Israel’s bombardment to stop.
