Turkish Journal – Zehranur Ertek – Farmers in Italy continue their protests with tractors to improve working conditions and to react to the government’s agricultural policies.
Farmers, who have been protesting increasing production costs and the cut in support for the sector for weeks, came together at the ancient meeting place Circus Maximus in the capital Rome to call on the government.
According to the Anadolu Agency, Danilo Calvani, one of the farmers’ representatives, said, “We are waiting for a response from the government. Now we will rest for a few days, but then we are ready to move again. We are not giving up.”
In the protests, targeting Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida as well, farmers continue their reactions to the agricultural policies of the European Union, demanding that the products they produce be sold at their real values.
