Turk has issued a statement regarding the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian War.

“The large-scale attacks against Ukraine, which are about to enter the third year of Russia, continue to cause serious and widespread human rights violations and destroy lives and livelihoods” he said, The UN Human Rights Watch said it confirmed that 10,582 people were killed and 19,875 injured in the Russian-Ukrainian War.

Turk said the real numbers are likely to be higher.

Stressing that millions were displaced by the war and thousands lost their homes, the Turk said, “This has significantly affected people’s health and education rights. The long-term impact of this war in Ukraine will be felt for generations” he said.

Turk has called for a thorough and independent investigation of all human rights and violations of international humanitarian law due to the war. (AA)
