TurkishJournal – Enes Kılıç – Four Turkish F-16 fighter jets arrived at Romania’s Fetesti Air Base on Tuesday, bolstering NATO’s air policing mission in the eastern part of the alliance and the Black Sea region, according to a statement from NATO’s Air Command.

These jets will fly alongside Romanian aircraft to patrol and safeguard NATO airspace. This deployment signifies Turkey’s active participation in NATO’s enhanced air policing efforts.

A member of NATO for over 70 years, Turkey possesses the alliance’s second-largest military. NATO’s air policing mission demonstrates the alliance’s commitment to collective defense and regional security, particularly in light of heightened tensions and ongoing security concerns, including the war in Ukraine.
