Charles Michel, the President of the Council of the European Union (EU), said the G7 leaders condemned Iran’s attack on Israel and called on the parties to push back. (AA)
Michel said the leaders of the member states, which convened with the call of the G7 President Italy, unanimously condemned Iran’s airstrike on Israel.
Stating that the leaders gathered through video conferencing have called for restraint on all sides, Michel said, “We will continue all our efforts to reduce the tension.
Michel also commented, “It will make a difference if the crisis in Gaza is brought to an end as soon as possible, especially through an emergency ceasefire.
The head of the EU Council noted that the issue will be discussed in particular at the EU summit on April 17-18.
Iran-Israeli tensions
Israel launched an air strike on Iran’s consular building in Damascus on April 1st. In the attack, 2 of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Army, a total of 7 people were killed in the rank of general.
Iran said the Israeli consular attack meant an attack on its country’s territory and that it would retaliate.
Iran launched an attack on Israel yesterday with hundreds of kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic and cruise missiles, and said some military targets had been hit.
Israel said most of the attacks were prevented by air defense systems, but a missile hit a military base in the south. (AA)
