By Janet Ekstract NEW YORK – No one is certain how the shooting incident at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday could happen, since reporters said that everyone goes through a secure check of bags at such rallies. Mary Alice Parks from ABC News said a statement came from Minority House Leader Hakim Jeffries, who said that America is a democracy and there is no room for violence against any political party. Eyewitnesses at the rally who spoke to reporters said they were saddened and shocked that such an incident could happen in the U.S. There were many elderly Trump supporters at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania as reporters said people were quickly ushered out of the area. ABC News reported that the rally area was heavily secured by the military. Meanwhile, ABC News also reports that a full statement from the Trump campaign, said that former president Trump thanks law enforcement for their quick action and that Trump is “safe” and “fine.” ABC News said that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. put out a statement after the incident that stated: “Now is the time for every American who loves our country to step back from the division and unite for president Trump and his family.” ABC News just reported that the District Attorney of Butler County in Pennsylvania, Robert Goldinger said the shooter is allegedly confirmed to be dead and there were reportedly two fatalities at the rally as a result of the shooting.
Media reports said that an incident such as this, is one that political rallies always prepare for and the Secret Service right now is in a “protect” mode. Many different agencies are trying to get information and “this won’t be viewed as an isolated incident” – it will be used as an example of what to do in the future, ABC News reported. An eyewitness, the Republican nominee for the Senate in Pennsylvania who was about to be introduced by Trump, said he heard seven or eight shots and that it wasn’t clear where the shots had come from. He also said he saw that someone had been severely injured by the shots and he said he couldn’t see anything else. He said people are still trying to exit the rally area since the traffic is backed up. He added that it was “shocking” amidst people’s excitement about the rally and said “it’s scary no matter what party you’re in” that your safety is at risk and “that it’s time to take stock.”
