Smith said it appears that the Secret Service “reacted in the way they’re trained to do” at former president Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. CBS News said they have cell phone video footage, allegedly showing the shooter on a nearby roof. Meanwhile, CBS News reported that President Joe Biden issued a statement on the shooting: “I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful for the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.” CBS said that Biden will make a statement later tonight and that former President George W. Bush, Jr. and former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama also commented on the shooting incident at Trump’s rally. New information in from CBS News said the shooting is being labeled a “sniper incident” which the former Secret Service agent, A.T. Smith said would have indicated that the sniper most likely operated with. a long-range rifle.
Meanwhile, multiple news agencies are continuing to report on the latest information available on the shooting incident at the Pennsylvania rally. Media reports are that one rally participant was struck fatally and that a second rally-goer is in critical condition, also hit as the attack unfolded. President Joe Biden will speak to the American public in a televised statement Saturday night on July 13. The president said he has been “trying to get hold of Donald,” “There’s no place in America for this kind of violence, it’s sick.” “We cannot condone this,” Biden said. there was no reason that Trump should not have been able to conduct his rally peaceably. In addition, President Biden said “Number one, it appears he’s doing well. Number Two, we have some reports on the people who were injured.” President Biden said that he’s being updated with the “appropriate agencies,” and Biden added: “I want to make sure we have all the facts, before I make any more comments.”
