Poumpouras said “You have to worry about “line of sight issues” and that the main issue, she said is, “Can you cover everything?” because she added “How do you secure all those elevated positions when you have weapons that shoot long distances?” Poumpouras also said the another one of the the most concerning issues would be the “stampeding issues” and “the danger a lot of times can come from within.” She praised the way people allowed the security team to do their jobs. In addition, NBC News said the investigation is ongoing into the sniper’s background and whether more than one person was involved in the shooting.
Kelly O’Donnell reporting for NBC News said that President Joe Biden is waiting to get more information on the situation. There is no confirmed reporting, O’Donnell said on the exact condition of the former president with his campaign manager saying that Trump is “fine” and “safe.” O’Donnell said “This is a critical evening,” and “what next steps should be.” Meanwhile, Hallie Jackson at NBC News said the former president on ‘Truth Social said: “I want to thank the United States Secret Service during the rapid shooting that took place in Butler, Pennsylvania and I want to extend my condolences to the families of the people who were shot.” Former president Trump did confirm on social media that he was hit with a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear. Now the question is what might change in the security about the Republican convention next week, NBC News asks. This image of Trump as a fighter is so central to his campaign, analysts said. Just in from Senior News Reporter for NBC, Hallie Jackson said the Secret Service came out with a new statement: “At a rally in Butler at 6:30 p.m. from an elevated position.” She said the statement said that the shooter was neutralized, one spectator was killed and two spectators were badly injured.
