Pogue, NEW YORK – Despite the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) being a resounding success, as Americans seeking to preserve our democratic heritage – we’re not out of the woods, yet. Frightening realities that most Americans don’t know about, if they aren’t reading the media fine print, must be examined. A prime example is the most recent article in Britain’s The Guardian, about Trump’s vice-presidential pick J.D. Vance, stating that Vance is linked to a conservative group that advocates repealing the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This is an anti-discrimination law that John F. Kennedy introduced and that became official after his assassination. To make matters worse, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (RFK) has now endorsed Trump, claiming Trump will make America “healthy again” while Kennedy’s famous siblings, in a recent joint statement, denounced his endorsement of Trump, stating that it’s “a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold.” The fact is that RFK is not operating with all his faculties, having made bizarre remarks to the press as well as publicly acknowledging his very serious health struggles. .
Meanwhile, Kennedy’s siblings support the Harris-Walz ticket as is their democratic tradition while it must be noted that RFK first approached the Harris campaign about his playing a role in the government should Harris get elected. Naturally, his overture was rejected then he reached out to the Trump campaign to see if he could get a role with them, if Trump is elected president. The result is that Trump wholeheartedly embraced RFK’s endorsement of him and even suggested he would give him a role to oversee a federal agency! To imagine such a reality is to imagine an America coming unhinged and that’s an understatement for sure. The Associated Press reported that RFK, an environmental lawyer, has become “among the most influential spreaders of fear and distrust around vaccines” and “has traveled the world spreading false information about the pandemic.” If that’s not enough, his Twitter account was named as the “top superspreader” of misinformation about Covid-19 by a medical journal article in 2022.
To demonstrate just how duplicitous RFK, Jr. really is, the Associated Press investigated the consequences of Kennedy’s advocacy on individual families and “how Kennedy had capitalized on the pandemic to create [Children’s Health Defense, his advocacy group] into a multimillion dollar misinformation engine.” For years, Kennedy has made false claims about vaccines and other bizarre statements quoted in the mainstream media that include his claim that chemicals in the water supply are making children transgender. So, while Trump touts Harris as “radical” – the simple truth is that nothing could be more “radica”l than the attitudes spouted by Trump, Vance and RFK, Jr. Let’s take a reality check- it’s common knowledge that both Vance and RFK, Jr. have publicly and privately excoriated Trump with Vance having expressing in text messages, that Trump is “probably a sociopath,” “barely human” and the “worst president ever,” according to The New Yorker. Vance can’t take back any of those disparaging remarks he made about Trump because text messages don’t lie and neither does video of Vance denouncing Trump.
The most frightening of all is the fact that two men who were once denouncing Trump, are now suddenly singing his praises, which smacks of the height of duplicitousness. When Vice-President Kamala Harris said during her speech at the DNC that Trump is an “unserious man,” she was being much too polite. Yet, she also pointed out that Trump has “served only one client, himself.” This begs the question as to how any voter could trust Vance or RFK, Jr. when they can snap switch their allegiance. In 2020, RFK, Jr. publicly labeled Trump a “bully,” saying that Trump had “discredited the American experiment with self-governance” and most recently, Kennedy called Trump’s criticism of him “unhinged.” If the truth be told, RFK, Jr. is completely unhinged and seeking self-aggrandizement through the Trump connection. Even Trump labeled Kennedy on Truth Social, “one of the most Liberal Lunatics ever to run for office” but now he welcomes him into the Trump fold. As Kamala Harris so rightly pointed out, Trump is “a convicted felon” and “I know his type.” Trump, Vance and RFK, Jr. are all in cahoots by running a scam they think the American people will buy. This author would like to think that the American public is on to them. As the adage goes, ’a lie has many faces but the truth only has one.’
