By Janet Ekstract NEW YORK – On the evening of October 1 -TRT World reporter Mohammad Al-Kassim, reporting live from Israel, said all GPS systems in Israel were disabled due to the missile attacks. According to reporting from TRT World, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is expected to come out with a second statement, shortly. TRT World’s reporter Mohammad Al-Kassim said that Iran’s mission, in a formal statement said “This attack was conducted in accordance with international law.” Meanwhile, flights over Iran have been rerouted, according to TRT World reporter Reza Hatami Tabran and he also said Iran was under pressure from its allies to retaliate against Israel not only for the assassination of Haniyeh but for the killing of two other top Hezbollah leaders. Analysts said that Iran doesn’t want an escalation and had refrained from any retaliatory moves for two months, prior. A political analyst from Qatar University Mahjoob Zweiri interviewed by TRT World, said “It’s obvious Iran is sending a clear message, don’t play with us again.” Zweiri said Iran used about 250 missiles to target some military bases and other places in Israel. He said Israel “hides its damage from its own people and the enemy,” adding “The narrative will say that nothing happened.” But Zweiri said that it would be doubtful that there would be no damage. He added that Iran will try to collect information about the first wave of the missile attack and that Iran warned that it’s only the first wave.
Zweiri said Netanyahu’s goal for quite some time, has wanted to attack buildings in Iran related to nuclear activities. TRT World Reporter Hassan Abdullah reporting from Beirut said the Lebanese are expecting some attacks from the southern front. At the moment, Abdullah commented that the Israelis have to manage their resources since the attack from Iran but there’s no indication of that happening. He reported that it’s quiet on the Lebanese front currently but that could change at any moment. The major concern in Lebanon is having a power vacuum which Abdullah said the Lebanese government doesn’t want. He added there are more than 700 shelters that the government is managing with people also sleeping out in the open and the Lebanese government is saying the situation is just getting worse. Jaffar Hasnain reporting from Washington D.C., said earlier on October 1 that President Biden with Vice President Harris held a meeting with his national security team to discuss Iran’s attack.
