After being informed about the situation, Trump shared his sympathies through a message on Truth Social.
“We stand in solidarity with all the innocent victims, their families, and the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department,” he remarked. “The Trump Administration is dedicated to fully supporting New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this dreadful act.”

Trump also commented on crime in America, saying, “When I warned that criminals entering the country posed a greater threat than those already here, Democrats and the Fake News Media ignored it. Yet, the crime rate in our nation has reached unprecedented heights.”

However, recent data from the FBI for 2024 shows a decrease in violent crimes in New Orleans. CNN has yet to confirm the suspect’s immigration status.

President Joe Biden also spoke about the tragedy, commending law enforcement for their prompt actions.
“I am profoundly thankful for the courage and swift response of local law enforcement, which helped prevent even greater loss of life and injuries,” Biden stated.

Biden, who has been receiving ongoing briefings from federal and local officials, promised that all necessary resources would be allocated to assist in the current investigation.
“I have instructed my team to collaborate closely with federal, state, and local authorities to uncover the facts and ensure there is no ongoing threat,” he said.

Offering condolences to those impacted, Biden shared, “My thoughts are with the victims and their families who were merely enjoying the holiday. Violence of any form is intolerable, and attacks on our communities will not be accepted.”

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to providing support to New Orleans during this difficult time.
